“Outside the Courtroom” YouTube series

Following modern trends and the importance of transparency, the Judges’ Forum of Serbia has launched a program on its YouTube channel, enabling judges to speak openly about key issues in the judiciary and propose possible solutions.

Freedom of Speech of Judges

Expanded freedom of expression for judges includes participation in public debates concerning the judiciary and encourages them to speak in defense of judicial independence and democracy at both national and international levels. However, this freedom is accompanied by the duty of judges to remain aware of their responsibilities and role in society and to refrain from political activities that could compromise their independence and impartiality.

Tips for Human-Centered Justice

As part of the USAID “Justice for All” Project, the Judges’ Forum of Serbia is implementing activities aimed at establishing Human-Centered Justice Councils.

Protection of Judges and the Court from Improper Influence

The High Judicial Council adopted the Rulebook on the Protection of Judges and the Court from Improper Influence on 7 December 2023, which prescribes the procedures and process for the protection of judges.

Support to Courts in the Development of a Mediation Program “REACH AN AGREEMENT, RESOLVE THE DISPUTE”

The Judges’ Forum of Serbia has initiated the implementation of the project “Reach an Agreement, Resolve the Dispute.” The aim of the project is to provide assistance and support to courts in implementing court-annexed mediation programs in accordance with the law and the Guidelines for the Improvement of Mediation.

Remote Hearings

The Judges’ Forum of Serbia has successfully implemented the project “Online Trials – Advantages of Remote Hearings, ” with the support of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs Regional Partnership Fund (NFRP-MATRA).

The project “Alternative Criminal Sanctions in Judicial Practice”

The project “Alternative Criminal Sanctions in Judicial Practice” is funded by the Embassy of the United States of America in Serbia under the Alumni Grant Program in the field of the Rule of Law. The project is implemented by members of the Judges’ Forum of Serbia who are also members of the Open World Alumni Club, with the support of the Judicial Academy of the Republic of Serbia.

Successfully completed project “Analysis of Small Claims Disputes”

On October 28, 2019, the Judges’ Forum of Serbia marked the completion of the project “Analysis of Small Claims Disputes, ” implemented with the support of the USAID Rule of Law Project. As a result of the project, guidelines for judges were developed, along with recommendations for courts and other institutions, proposals for amendments to the case management software used in courts, as well as a proposal for amendments to the Civil Procedure Law.

Open Doors of the Judiciary

The Judges’ Forum of Serbia is participating in the project “Open Doors of the Judiciary, ” which is supported by USAID. The aim of the project is to strengthen citizens’ trust in the work of judicial institutions in the Republic of Serbia by improving communication between citizens and the judiciary.
The project is implemented by a coalition consisting of 12 organizations engaged in human rights and democratic development, as well as professional judicial associations.

Preparation of a Manual on the Civil Procedure Law

The Judges’ Forum of Serbia has successfully completed a project supported by the Embassy of the Netherlands, which aimed to prepare a Manual on the Civil Procedure Law.
