“Outside the Courtroom” YouTube series
Following modern trends and the importance of transparency, the Judges’ Forum of Serbia has launched a program on its YouTube channel, enabling judges to speak openly about key issues in the judiciary and propose possible solutions.
Recording and publicly sharing judges’ views represents a modern step forward toward greater visibility of judicial challenges and strengthening citizens’ trust in the justice system. In the era of digital media, where (mis)information spreads faster than ever, it is essential that the judiciary be accessible and understandable to the public.
Through direct conversations and analyses, judges have the opportunity to explain the problems they face, ranging from unequal salaries and inadequate technical equipment in courts to issues of pensions and housing security.
SECOND EPISODE
“In the era of information, the issue of judges’ freedom of speech is becoming increasingly important. The education of judges is key to professional development. Continuous training of judges is necessary, and certain skills must be developed in order to make the judiciary more efficient and closer to citizens,” notes, among other things, Judge Dejan Petković.

“For decades, the judicial system in Serbia has been facing serious challenges – from unequal judges’ salaries and inadequate technical equipment in courts to unresolved issues of pensions and housing security. Inadequate income undermines the status of the judicial profession and creates inequalities in the functioning of courts at different levels. At the same time, the lack of modern technologies and limited access to electronic databases slow down court proceedings and make the delivery of justice more difficult. Comprehensive digitalization is an inevitable step and a necessity of today that requires attention,” says, among other things, Judge Nebojša Đuričić, President of the Board of Directors of the Judges’ Forum of Serbia.
