Partnership Agreement Signed Between GEMME and the Judges’ Forum of Serbia
The Judges’ Forum of Serbia (JFS) and the European Association of Judges for Mediation (GEMME) have concluded a partnership agreement, establishing an important framework for enhancing international cooperation in the field of alternative dispute resolution.
The agreement was signed in Warsaw and represents an important step toward strengthening the role of mediation and other peaceful methods of dispute resolution in Serbia and the broader European context. Given that, under the current GEMME rules, judges and professionals from Serbia cannot obtain full membership status, this partnership has established a functional model of cooperation that enables active participation in the work and initiatives of this European network.
The aim of the partnership is to encourage connections between judges and the professional community from Serbia with colleagues across Europe through the exchange of experience, best practices, and joint activities in the field of mediation. Special emphasis has been placed on improving education, information-sharing, and the professional development of judges and other experts engaged in alternative dispute resolution.
The agreement also provides for the participation of representatives of the Judges’ Forum of Serbia in GEMME activities, including professional conferences, projects, and the exchange of information with the national sections of the organization. In this way, members of the JFS will be able to contribute to the development of mediation while also benefiting from the experience and resources of the European professional community.
The conclusion of this partnership confirms the commitment of both parties to jointly contribute to the development of a more efficient, accessible, and modern dispute resolution system in which mediation plays an increasingly important role.
